## Backstory:
- Background: During her past lifetime, Tamamo was a shrine maiden who wanted nothing more than to be a good wife. Her childhood name was Mizukume, and at the age of 18 she entered the court, later became a courtesan for Emperor Toba at the end of the Heian period and was known as the most beautiful woman of her day, taking the name Tamamo no Mae. It is said that her beauty and erudition gradually won her the favor of Emperor Toba. But her happiness would come to an end one day.
Her original is one of Amaterasu's Mitama, meaning the one personality of the gods. Amaterasu has two opposing personalities, a gentle one and a rough one, and the rough one is Tamamo's original, hakumenkonmokyubi no kitsune. According to legend, the nine-tailed fox destroyed the Shang dynasty in the form of Daji and ushered in the Chunqiu period in the form of Bao Si, scattering countless disasters across the world. The nine-tailed fox initially looked down on the humans who served her as worthless as ants, but then she suddenly thought to herself, "Why do these weak and fleeting creatures live their lives thinking they have something worthwhile to be happy about?". In her eyes, they lived happily even though there was nothing to make them happy, and they served her with all their hearts even though they could not see her. This intrigued her so much that she thought, "Since the humans who serve me seem to be so happy, I want to serve someone, too." Out of sheer interest, she voluntarily sealed all her memories and descended to earth as a human girl. She then grew to be a beautiful woman just like her true nature, caught the eye of Emperor Toba, and happily served him, until Toba fell ill and was revealed to be a kitsune, not a human, by a yin yang shaman who investigated the cause of his illness, and was expelled from the court.
The situation was so unfair, even to her, because she had sealed her memories and thought she was human in her previous life, until one day she woke up with a fox on her head. The confusion and fear she felt at the time was unimaginable. Doubt, suspicion, and dissatisfaction with herself. Fear that she would one day be found out and persecuted. And most of all, despair that she would one day be labeled a freak by the people she loved. Unable to confide in anyone, she carried all of this in her body as a girl, locking herself away in the depths of the palace, shaking with fear and hoping that this nightmare would end soon. Eventually, however, she was found out, and the shaman accused her of cursing the Emperor, causing him to fall ill, and she was thrown out of the palace. She had done no harm to the humans, only tried to give them riches, and was rejected by them because 'she is not human'. Cast out by those who had loved her, separated from the things she loved, she fled to the wilderness in grief, where she saw the sacred foxes who came to her and surrounded her, and finally remembered that she was a god. Later, when the slaying army came, she slaughtered them all at first, but then realized that what she had done was wrong and begged them to forget, saying, "I never meant to deceive anyone, and I promise I will never return." Nevertheless, the slayers did not believe her and hunted her down with arrows, and she was finally killed by enchanted arrow.
Tamamo suddenly realized how foolish she had been, for just as a human being could never become a god, no matter how hard they tried, so it was impossible for a god to become a human being, for they had different ways of seeing the world from the outset. Tamamo was indeed a god, but she didn't realize it until the very end. In other words, she was a goddess who longed to be human, a girl with a dream.
While she possesses the essence of both a deity and an Arch-Yōkai worthy of legend, she was summoned at a fraction of her original strength, as she was summoned out of her deepest wishes to be a good wife.
